Worrrst Possible Timing.

Well, before I realized there was a columnaris outbreak in my sorority, I picked up a new girl. She's hanging out in a gallon tank for the next coupleof weeks, at least until I can be sure nobody is sick. Thought I'd share a few pictures. No name quite yet, but she's settling in quite well. She is a very quick learner! It took the others a few days to realize that an open lid means "FOOD!". She took 24 hours. lol anyway..

She's kind of a butterfly, but definitely cambodian.

Also, forgive the bloat, this was just after a big chunk of frozen brine shrimp. :)

She's so golden and shiny! I love her! You should name her Gilda.

I'm not positive what I'll name her yet.... but she is rivaling the ever-famous Mew and the bug-eyed Delilah (my avi) in cuteness. Seriously I almost have a cute overload when I walk over to check on/feed/say hi to her. She's been having a hell of a time getting Cameron all riled up.
On my counter right now (since i have a couple of sick fishies) it goes New girl -> Cameron -> Rikku -> Nina -> Delilah. So... many... tanks. Usually it's just Cameron and Rikku.
The girls have been enjoying themselves making the boys flare up. In fact, I noticed once that Nina was actually flaring back at Rikku, with her breeding bars showing! ... I've since moved her out of view. (The bars freaked me out, I thought more of the infection popping up, but no, that's just her. lol) It's odd though. I've always associated having columnaris with showing serious physical symptoms including lethargy and not being at all willing to eat. Nina and Delilah are both showing the white fuzzies, but they're otherwise active, responsive, and always hungry. Just like usual. I'm hoping their treatment is working if this is how they're acting! </rambling>

I think I'll take more pictures of new girl and post tomorrow. :)

More pictures? No?! Well then it sucks to be you! :)

I wonder when I'll be able to add her to the sorority... Usually I wait at least a week, maybe two. I wonder if adding her wouldn't stress the other girls out too much. I plan to totally bleach out the sorority tank to get rid of any nasties anyway... hm.

I love those eyes! I both love and hate the breeder that supplies that wal-mart. Whoever it is somehow comes out with these beauties, but why wal-mart? Come on, man.

She's gorgeous! I love her coloring. Maybe since she's a sunshine yellow you could name her Stella?
