Yes!!! Finally!

my CT finally flared!! I'm sooo happy! he was just swimming past the mirror I had set up for him 2 WEEKS AGO and BLAM! ... he flared at his reflection.
aahhh... i am quite satisfied right now.
anyways, I was just wondering if male bettas only start to flare at a certain age because when i got him he was tiny and, i'm guessing, pretty young too. so is that why he had never flared before. he's also kinda shy, ok, very shy so that may be another reason.
I dunno. pls let me know if you have an answer as to why he only did this now...

Not sure. My boy Red came from Walmart being SO tiny, he was also shy and I couldn't get him to flare even though I knew he was healthy. So I got him and I've never been happier. I also finally saw him flare a few days ago. He's gotten a bit bigger, makes me so glad I got him.

Don't think it's a CT thing, necessarily. I adopted Loki, my DT combtail from another user on here about a month ago, and I FINALLY saw him flare for the first time tonight, for no reason... I was so excited, he is so laid back, never flares even at eating time. So it was neat to see. He is also very small, so it could be an age thing as well.

Haha I love putting a mirror by Blaze's tank!! He is absolutely gorgeous when he flares!!!!! I don't do it too long 'cuz it will stress him out but I do it every now and then for a little workout
