Alright,
so as of now I have three Bettas. Two males (Both DT or VT I believe) And one who I have not yet decided upon it's sex. O.o I'll put it's picture first, if anyone could tell me what type and gender it is, that'd be great! Anyway, I'm interesting in trying to have my first spawn early this summer, and was wondering if any of these fish are good enough conformation/color wise. Feedback would be much appreciated!

The pistures aren't too clear (We need to see a side view of them flaring) but this is my best guess:

1st picture: male dragon PK
2nd picture: male (either) dT or HM (don't know the name of the color)
3rd picture: male multi copper (either dt or HM)

Worthy for breeding or not depends on your goals. Color is personal preference.

#1: ML Dragon PK
#2: ML DT/HM Platinum Dalmatian
#3: ML DT/HM Red with either slight copper or dragon scaling.
Of the 3 IMO the red one would be safest. But, that always depends on what females you can find and your own color preference :)

I think the dragon is sweet. The short modern looking fins on the lighter side of things. Are dragon's on the more communal side of living like some PK's?
The others are pretty.

If I bred the last male with a HM female, is there a possibility that the offspring would have fuller fins? Or is a DT x HM not a good cross?

"Dragon" refers to the coloration of the Plakat in photo #1. "Dragon" means that the betta has thick white scales covering its body. Many people keep all types of bettas in community set ups without problems (as long as the community fish are compatible).

If the female is from a true HM line, and is a good HM specimen- yes, you would get a few HM offspring.

Speaking of "good or bad" crosses depends on your goals. If you want to create show quality fins in only 1 or 2 generations, then yes it's a bad idea.

dT x HM crosses will need a high percentage of surviving fry to then be selected for the following generation and so on. It will take you at least 3 generations to get HM that will breed true - unless of course they were from a HM line to begin with.

IMO your copper may be a HM, so you should get HM offspring .... can you get a side view picture of them flaring.
If you want to be 100% sure, get a female with a 180* spread, with 11 base and 4 end ray branching and preferably with pointed tail edges.

Okay, I tried to get some of Chess flaring. >.< Slow camera, but I got a few. And he isn't copper colored at all in person..He's got bright silver scales.

Is he a HM or DT? I have heard he could be either one..

Looks like an HM (or near HM) to me. You can really see it in the first pic. He is definitely a red copper as well.

His dorsal fin isn't nearly as full as other HM's, but it does look like it in the first picture. What type/color would you recommend breeding him to to achieve good fin structure and color? (Preference aside.) I don't intend to show or anything, but I do need a cross that would produce good enough offspring to find homes for.
