Irrational (Or maybe Rational) Fears

Everyone has fears, I was wondering what other people are afraid of?

I am afraid of tornadoes. I live in Iowa, so it's not really tornado alley, but we get some. Tomorrow we are supposed to get an outbreak, and I'm freaking out. That's what kinda led to me wonder what others fear. I don't know anyone else who is nervous in the least. Even my friend who drove next to the EF5 as it destroyed Parkersburg, Iowa (for those who know about that event), is very laid back about them.

I am also afraid of flying.. well not really. I guess I'm afraid of crashing, flying i don't mind. I think this fear is probably more common.

So... what are you afraid of?

I am afraid of tornadoes as well *shudder* Storms in general freak me out.

I'm also afraid of large spiders, and falling from heights (not heights though, I love the amazing viewpoints from high up places)

I am terrified of sharks, I won't ever go surfing because of it. Just seeing a fin slice through the water and then the crooked teeth coming at you... Scares me to death.

Oh my gosh, me, too! And alligators.

Cockroaches. I know they can't hurt me and they don't carry diseases, but they send me into a fit of panic. Definitely an irrational fear.

Heights! I hate em and am useless at walking up hills where I can see the bottom because my stomach gets all wobbly

Spiders, big bugs of any sort, and driving over big bridges that are far above the water. I will only get to SF, CA if I fly in. No way am I driving over the Golden Gate!

BUGS!!! Specifically cockroaches or water bugs *shudders* Once one got on me and it freaked me out! Totally an irrational fear.

My other fear is Sharks, but I guess that is pretty typical. Not all sharks, just the ones that think humans are yummy.... I still would love to learn to surf but but the thing with sharks kind of burns in the back of my mind when I swim far out in the Ocean.

So it looks like a lot of people are not bug fans. I used to be scared of spiders (I can pin point the exact moment I became afraid, it was 2nd grade and Mrs. Bowman taught us that Black Widows bites kill), but when I was about 14 my mom made me help her clean out the spider webs from the barn. I spent the first couple days crying, but after that I started to get over it. So, for those of you who are scared of spiders... you want to come clean my barn to get over your fear.
