I wouldn't mind having an iphone but probably couldn't afford it. How much do they cost anyway? I probably couldn't afford the internet service for it either.

Iphone 4 with 2 yr contract is $200 with monthly data and call added...it isn't cheep. But the iPhone 3gs is $49...

I'm sure the iphone 4 is more sophisticated and does more than the iphone 3 g. I'm thinking of doing away with my landline phone and going with just cell phones. That means I'd have to get one for my mom.

A lot of people are doing that these days. My brother has only a cell phone. Not that it matters, we couldn't get a hold of him even when he had a landline AND a cell phone. But if you get a family plan, it can be a pretty good deal.

we were planning to do that, but we make daily calls to india...and its a hassle with cell phones..

And the 3GS is a bit less sophisticated, but they are both amazing phones...
