Betta Tank?

My betta lives in a approximately 1 gallon bowl. I have noticed lately that by betta just swims in circles. Is this normal? Should I get a larger tank? I'm thinking about getting a 5 gallon tank.

A 5 gallon would be perfect. I would suggest getting an heater to keep the water atleast 76 to 80. Also a filter wouldn't hurt. You may need to baffle it depending on the outflow.

But a 5 gallon would be great and the betta would love the new room.

I second everything Cassandra said. A 5 gallon is an excellent size and I'm sure your betta will be happy with more room to swim around and check things out. It gives you more decorating options as well, which some people find a lot of fun to design and set up.

A 5 gallon would be good. I would also suggest at keeping the temp from 78 to 84. They are tropical fish and like it warm. If you get a small filter, you will not need a baffle. A Hagen Elite Mini or a Red Sea Nano would be at the top of that list. Also make sure there are hiding places. Plants can accomplish this as can small flower pots put on their sides and half buried.
