So.. I think my foot is broken

I'm not entirely sure but it hurts. It hurts bad enough that I'm actually willing to go to the doctor (which I'm deathly afraid of) and willing to try and find someone to work for me tomorrow (again I hate doing that).

It all started sunday morning. I woke up and could barely put weight on the ball of my left foot. I don't remember hurting it the day before so I don't know how this happened.
I managed to work through it just walking and standing on the side of my foot instead of laying it flat. Yesterday it hurt a little more but again I worked through it and then when I got home I put it up with some ice for the whole evening.

All last night I kept waking up because it was hurting and I couldn't get comfortable. When I finally got up around 7am I couldn't hardly walk at all, to the point where I'm actually crying (which I don't do) because it hurts so bad.

So I have to go to the hospital and have them look at my foot since I don't have a regular doctor here at school. I'm so nervous I'm actually shaking... I hate doctors... I don't know why but I do. Probably because I've never actually had a happy experience with one.

Let's just hope its not broken but just a ligament thing. Poor fish need water changes but I can't carry a bucket right now.

Is it swollen? I hope it's nothing too bad, but even with a sprain, I was on crutches for a couple of weeks. :/

It seems to be a little swollen at the base of my big toe. I can just barely scrunch my toes but if I try to point my toe it hurts way too much. I can move all my small toes with no problem, its just my big toe and the ball of my foot that are causing problems.

I've tried ice and elevation and hot water with epsom salts and alcohol... neither takes the pain away for very long.

I hope they don't put me on crutches because my job requires me to be able to stand up for long periods of time. Plus crutches are a pain in the keister, especially since I live on the 3rd floor (walk up).

I was in middle school on crutches. The school had stairs and I had to wear my backpack full of books....and no one helped me. I feel your pain!

Ahh, that's not good. Hope you get better soon!
I broke my foot once when I was little, but it didn't exactly hurt, it was numb and it felt like it would break if I put pressure on it - very weird!
But I had to get a cast and use crutches for a while!

Maybe it's a bone spur, if you don't remember an injury? I hope it's a simple diagnosis and you're in and out like that!

I'm at the ER now. People said it could be a bone spur or stress fracture if its even a bone thing. It could be a tendon or ligamnet thing.

That is about how they usually diagnose around here.
