My female guppy died before dropping her fry.

I got a female guppy at Pet Smart and she was very pregnant. She was going to drop this morning I figured so I got up early and put her in the breeder. She started swimming upside down and then she died. SHe didn't even drop one fry. Can anyone give me advice about why she died? Was she too stressed? I'd like to prevent it. I have a young fancy who is pregnant with my male fancy's fry. Will she die too?

And I'd like to sell some fry to petsmart. Have any of you ever sold to petsmart? I haven't yet and I don't exactly know how to go about asking them. I've bred fry and I sell them to friends, neighbors and at flea markets and if we have yardsales, guppies are sold too. But I want to take a more apropriate approach and sell them to a pet store. Te closest pet stores I have are Inland Reef, Pet Smart, and Pet Land.

Chain pet stores will not take locally bred fish because they have contracts with big fish farms who supply their stock.

As to why your female died it was probably due to complications birthing. I've heard it's not uncommon for females to die giving birth.
