Unhappy Why?! Fins clamped again!

So it's been a week since I moved Penfold out of the hospital cup and back into his jar. His fins have been beautifully open and flowy since then. But I just changed his water today, and now his fins are starting to clamp up again. Why?!

Could it just be stress from the water change? Arg.

HOw frustrating!

Did you acclimatize him to the water when you moved him back after the water change? What is the temp in the tank?

Did you remember to use conditioner with your water change?

There are a few things.

Assuming the water chemistry is fine, it could be stress. Harley was always a bit fearful the first day or so after being moved into his aquarium from his bowl. Did you clean the aquarium before Penfold went back in? Whats the temperature of the aquarium? Is Penfold eating?

Thanks for the replies! Penfold's fins seem a little bit less clamped today. He is swimming around normally and eating. I think the new water was a little bit colder (3-5 degrees?) when I put him in, but the heater got it warmed up to 80 again fairly quickly.

I also wonder if he's a little stressed because the plants are in a different place now. Before I changed the water, he had a favorite spot between two leaves near the surface, and that spot isn't there anymore.

Smile

Glad to hear things are looking up. I wouldn't worry too much, Penfold will get used to the new plant pattern soon enough.
