Question Are these the roots of the plant?

Is this the root of the bulb?

Looks like it to me unless you have some crazy creature growing in your tank haha.

being a noob with plants in a tank, take my opinion with a grain of salt, however that does look like root growth to me

yeah i thought so also. So I've had it planted with that side down for a long time, but the top doesn't grow out, that's why i got confused.

Iwish i knew lol, it came in a package with a mixture of bulbs. Two started to grow, this one and another one. The other one's leafs have grown but on this one only the roots grow. Some of the roots grow up also and pierces throw the gravel.

it keeps getting bigger, on an hourly basis. So i decided to let it grow in it's own bowl till i can tell the difference between the roots and leaves. It seems that they are both coming out of the same side.
