Recommended heaters?

Looks like my bargain heater has quit as of last night. Tank used to stay at a stable 78 and is now at 74. Anyone able to recommend a good heater that WON'T die?

Also, will my fishies be okay until the new heater comes? :/

I LOVE my marineland stealth pro 50W!it has been rock solid in both my unfiltered 2.5 Gal, and my filtered 10 gal! I have 4 of them haha. I think at one point there was a recall on a bad batch, but all of that has been resolved now.

well, if you look at the link inside the link, it specifically tells you which models of the stealth and stealth pro were faulty. Most are old ones, so the newer ones (if not those models) will be fine.

I'd go with anything marineland. I have stealth pro, and a visi-therm, both are great.

I have the marina 10 watt. It's preset to 78 but the temp in both tanks are 81 which my fish adore. I think your fish will be fine if it was a gradual drop. Aki's tank once fell to 60 by accident and he was fine still flitting about. (We fixed the heater problem I swear!)

The recall is for Stealths and Stealth Pros sold between 2004 and Feb 2011. This recall was just issued yesterday. People have had fires from failure. I replaced all but one today because the replacement was broken. I'll be returning it tomorrow. Check your model numbers. Your fish and your homes are worth it!

I have a Hydor Theo in Kilo's tank and it works very well. Keeps a constant 80.
