Exclamation Fish near death!

Please help

I wanted to put tannins in my tank to help my fish. Well, I soaked decaf green tea bags 1 per gallon for an hour than added my fish. I acclimated Ryu but forgot to acclimate Neon and my cories. He's doing really bad right now, he's super lethargic and clamped up and is just laying on the bottom.

What temperature is your tank? 82
Does your tank have a filter? yes
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?
Is your tank heated? no
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? 5 pygmy cories

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? daily

Maintenance

How often do you perform a water change? weekly
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 25-50%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? aquasafe

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? faded colors
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? lethargic and just laying on the bottom
When did you start noticing the symptoms? now
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? I did a 50% water change then put him in a .5 gallon bowl with fresh water
Does your fish have any history of being ill? no
How old is your fish (approximately)? unknown

I put him in a .5 gallon bowl of fresh water... right now I don't care if the cories make it, it's just Neon I'm worried about. Please, what can I do?!

To understand....the fish were fine until you add the decaf green tea...the Betta you acclimated properly is fine but the fish that you did not acclimate properly are not fine....correct.....

You now have the sick fish in QT and made a water change.....clamped fins, laying on the bottom lethargic, not eating and all this started after the tea....correct......one betta and cory cats......

Don't use any salt with the cory cats......just dechlorinated water and water changes get the temp down to 76F for them and hold all food...

The Betta, I would start an Epsom salt 2tsp/gal with 100% daily water changes....

Sounds like a pH shock and often they don't recover.......good that you got them back in fresh water right away...

I'm so happy today!

ALL the fish recovered! Neon looks upset at being forced into a bowl but he's happy and well again (well a bit grumpy), and the cories are snuffling around and doing their thing. I'll NEVER forget to acclimate again, this I do swear!

Yeah, I'd write a HUGE poster saying everything about basic betta care. Hmmmm, maybe I should do that....

Im glad he's okay! I think (maybe?) the tea lowers some sort of parameter in the tank (pH? No clue DX), which, in addition to needing general acclimation, probably shocked his system.

Be careful, silly! <3

Lol I got so nervous by this ordeal I acclimated Neon for 8 hours before adding him back into my tank. He's doing well (unless you consider this unhealthy) I guess I just got REALLY lucky with this whole ordeal. Thanks Bettafish for teaching me the signs of a sick Betta, if not for that Neon probably wouldn't have made it...
