What Exactly Is "nano"

so i see alot of people using the word "nano" in some tank builds, but im curious what does the word mean or stand for in this instance, why is is it a "nano" build ... is it a build that is under a certain amount of Gal ?

nano is just small. normally under 2 foot.

From what I read at Aquascapingworld.com "Nano's" are usually 10 gallons or less

It depends on who you talk to really. I don't consider anything over 5 gallons a "nano".. but then again I don't have very large tanks. To someone who thinks a 55 gallon is a medium sized tank a 10 gallon would be a nano.

IMO 3 gallons and under is a nano but there are people who would disagree with me. In the end its what ever size you decide is right.

I think nano is a robot term also I'm not sure if they mean that kind for tanks though

I always associate the word 'nano' with ultra-small saltwater or reef tanks. It's a real talent to be able to stabilize a salt water or reef tank of that size.
