Water Changes?

How frequent do I have to do if I have a 2.5 gallon with a filter running 24/7 and 1 male betta no live plants.

1-50% and 1-100% a week for maybe a month or so to cycle, then I think it's 2-50% a week.

Definitely not. :/
A filter will eventually lessen the amount of water that you change, but not the frequency.

how am i supposed to do 50% water change like do i scoop out the water. HOW I NEED STEPS

Get a small gravel vac, start it, shuffle it around in the gravel until half the water is gone (50%). For the 100%, scoop your betta into a cup, remove him from the tank, and gravel vac out as much water as you can, then dump the rest, refill with clean dechorinated water each water change. You do the 50% once a week (say, tuesday) and the 100% a week (say, saturday).

Edit: Be sure to vacuum the gravel each change btw, gunk builds up in it and can harm your fish with all the ammonia it'll be producing.

Gravel vacs are basically siphons. Bout ten bucks

Steps:
1) remove betta
2) remove all decor except gravel
3) use vac and siphon Poop out of gravel and 50% of water
4) refill with aged, conditioned water
5) replace decor
6) let run for 15 min so temp returns to normal and everything settles down
7) float the container mr betta is in for 15 min
8) return mr betta

It should take about 40 min to complete. I'm sure you don't have to float his container but you can If you want. So it should take half an hr at most if you don't do step 7. Good luck!

The first water change you do in the week you need to remove half the water. Three to four days after that, catch your fish in a cup and change all the water. With a cycle or plants to suck up some of the ammonia, the water will become toxic if you don't do at least one full change in a week.

...Okay. Each week, you do this:

sunday|monday|tuesday 50%|wednesday|thursday|friday|saturday 100%

And repeat the next week. You do this every week for the rest of your bettas life. Forget what I said about after a month or so doing 2-50% changes, we'll start off with this slow.
