So.. when should I do a water change?

5 gallon filtered. Had fishie in there for a few months now. I usually do a 50% water change every 3-4 days.
On Wednesday night, I did a 100% water change. I was thinking "Oh, I have to do a water change today!" but, I thought, the last time I did a water change it was 100%. What percent should I change tomorrow? (Monday)

Also, whats a good adjustable filter for a 10 gallon? (divided once)

In a 5gal filtered/cycled-with one Betta...50% weekly with vacuum should maintain water quality, however, with the 100% water changes the nitrogen cycle may be compromised depending on how you did the 100%.....and may need twice weekly 50%..1-50% water only and 1-50% to include substrate vacuuming until the nitrogen cycle had established......
