Question Breeding Tank Questions

When setting up a breeding tank, is it necessary to have a filter? Or would it be too strong/dangerous for the delicate fry?

What kind of heater is best for the breeding tank?

Are water changes necessary as in a regular habitat, and if so, how much water and how frequently?

Just trying to learn as much as I can before I consider breeding my fish, I want everyone to be safe, healthy, and happy!

You don't need a filter, however, some do like to use a sponge filter once the fry are a littler older...I use live plants for my filtration.....

Heaters-I don't have a favorite brand-I get best hatch, growth and development in water temp of 80F

Water changes-depending on the method and type of foods you fed.....generally water changes of at least 50% daily once you start adding food for the fry if you do the 10gal full to the top with water method....
If you are doing a different method or not using live foods for the fry....water changes will be different....

Lots of different ways/methods to successfully spawn and rear fry......
