I use a turkey baster to get the poop out. It seems to work really well. In a small tank like mine (5gal) the cheap gravel vacs really don't work well and I just end up ripping the tank apart with them trying to get the stuff. :P

Alright...successful water change, and the fish seem to be doing really well...already more active and their colors brightened a little =)...talked to my dad, we will be buying conditioner and possibly a vac soon =D

Just wondering, how did the pet store people possibly sell any fish to a first timer (assumed) WITHOUT WATER CONDITIONER?!?!? That is just plain stupid on their part. If you don't have Conditioner, let the water sit in buckets for 4-5 days before adding it to the tank. If u get WC, the water needs to age for 12+ hrs. Good luck!!!

@Neil: I was in my campus dorm when this happened...so I honestly have no clue...and my parents aren't first timers...its just been a VEEERY long time...like...15 years...

hakuna matata =3...they guppy crew seems to be doing a bit better...i think one may have had a bit of finrot which is already clearing up...things are looking up =)
