Really worried - please help! Scales falling off?

Hey everyone,

Sorry to be a pain and post another 'help me' thread when I've only just joined! I posted earlier about my betta which I bought today flaring at his own reflection, I've put card behind the tank (29 litres) and its stopped him doing it and now he's having an explore.

Problem is....he seems to have lost scales off of his face...he was solid red when I got him home, and now the underside of his face is an off white/grey colour - it looks like his scales have fallen off!

Please help, I don't want my baby to die!!

okay so here's a before and after...im hoping these uploaded okay. the second one is him now, sorry i couldnt get a better picture! he keeps going behind the heater, is it possibly heater burns?? xx
