over flaring?

My betta Boo can see his reflection in the evenings and will spend hours flaring at it. Will he hurt himself or get too stressed out by this?

Mine rarely flares. Just when he can CLEARLY see himself in the mirror, and even in the 30 seconds or so he does flare, he is in the same spot in the tank waiting for the fish to come back for about 10 mins. His stress will be releaved but a constant problem like yours.... may require for you props where he sees himself.

my boy doesnt flare at all really , some times in the vids he will do a mini flare but never a full flare, tried all types of mirrors too

Mine is sorta like that, too.
It doesn't happen constantly because on some sides of the tank, he can't see his reflection.

I'm certainly no expert, but it seems like it could be some cause for concern if it really happens for hours a day. But I don't think the flaring itself is going to hurt him. Just maybe means he is on edge for some reason or maybe sees something that is scaring him other than his reflection?

Quasi-funny anecdote: I had the container of fish food set up next to one area he can see through, not even realizing that the betta on the bottle was facing him, and I noticed him looking at it and flaring a little. Oops!
