Opinions on 7 Hex

Could not pass up this deal at the flea market in town today. Marineland Eclipse Hex 7 complete set-up for only FOUR dollars. It was even in the original box with paperwork and is in like-new condition. I'd have been a fool to pass it up.

Now...it's a fairly tall tank. 17" tall to be exact. I'm not into tall tanks that much, and I know that bettas are better suited for shallower tanks. If I add a few inches of gravel and put some tall plants with broad leaves for resting on, this should be ok, right?

My betta sorority is in a 20H, and that is just about 17" tall, too. My girls are thriving in there and don't seem to mind the depth.

I have a betta in a tall tank (a 5 gal., not a 7) and he does fine. Some tall plants, though, may make your guy feel more comfortable.

And no doubt - I would have purchased that also!!! CONGRATS! :)
