Bettas and Angels

I am new to the aquarium scene and love these two fish. Are they compatable?

From what I've read, Angel fish are very territorial and need at least 30g tank. I do not think these two would be a good match as both are territorial fish. They certainly are beautiful though. :)

my mate has a Betta & 2 or 3 Angels and they get on jst fine..ill try get a pic of them tonight..

I don't think bettas can get along too good with angels. Arent Angels saltwater fish and not only territorial but super aggressive?

Well dont knw how they do it but yea shes got 3 of them & a betta plus 3 other fish..
there might be a fresh water & salt water Angel fish..Dont knw jst guessing lol..

One of the smartest things my favorite employee at my LPS said to me was...

"If anyone tells you they know 100% something about fish, take it with a grain of salt. Every fish is different."

Perhaps some bettas can do it, some can't. Depends on their personality. :D

There are salt and freshwater angels. I personally don't think they should be put in the same tank because they are unlikely to live peacefully, however my mom had a 55g with a male VT and tetras and angels and silver dollars for years. She also kept a goldfish in the same tank (usually the betta and goldfish fins were abused...) She also had a firemouth cichlid that had to be rehomed LOL So just because someone does it and the fish lives doesn't mean its a good idea for you personally :)

Angels do need larger tanks than bettas, too.

Angels need at least 30 gallons, and I hear that with bettas, can be very nippy on both ends. I personally wouldn't do it.

i've always heard angels aren't angels at all, and will rip bettas fins to shreds. but, as it's been said, every fish is different. i'd never give it a shot myself, but i do have a friend who had a female living with some cichlids(including angels at one point), so you never know.
