Unhappy I'm so confused!!!!

k I started a thread about what could I put with a female betta in a 5 gallon. And I have had people tell me "You can get this!" then "No you can't there too big!" and "Well then this!!" then "No they don't go good with bettas!!" Thats why I'm confused!! So please! What can go in a 5 gallon with a female betta? I know I'm pretty limited. So I want the most interesting tank-mates for this size tank. Thx

no fish in anything under 10 gallons, but you can have inverts.

A snail or two, or a few shrimp (probably around 5, depending on the species), is what you can have. Bettas tend to pick on shrimp and snails (Eat them or bite them) But there are many success stories with bettas and inverts.

Hmm, just found your other thread. Weren't you going to do a mystery snail and some cherry shrimps?

If you want a smaller, lower maitanence, algae cleaning snail, get nerites! Better yet, a zebra nerite! They're gorgeous and oly multiply in brackish water but will live happily in fresh.

baylee767 I'm most likely going to do that!! I love nerite snails! I was going to buy one at petco but my local one didn't stock them :(. Thank yall all for the suggestions 1 more thing. What about ADF? I had that as a tank-mate before, gave up on them and now thinking they're pretty cool! Could 1 go in with the betta, cherry shrimp and snail? Also I've heard that they have to be taken out for feeding be 'cause bettas will swim faster than them and eat their food! Poor froggys:( Ha anyway thx

I don't know the bioload of ADFs but you shouldn't keep just one shrimp in a tank. They should be kept in groups of 3+.

Ok so no frogs.(My mom wasn't to crazy 'bout that anyway) SO would 3-4 cherry shrimp still be ok with the nerite and betta?

Choose either the shrimp or the snail, not both as snails have a high bioload :)
3-5 cherry shrimp would be fine in a 5 gallon.
