Youll be fine, and so will they. Just do what you can for now.

If it seems really really pressing, you can go an get a large bucket (never used) or better yet a sterilite/rubbermaid container and put a betta in there until you get a new tank or another tank.

You need heaters for both, though. Also, to cover it, use seran wrap and punch holes into it.

Theyre usually about $1.50 a gallon, so get a 5 gallon, or heck, even two, and the fish will be happy :)

Many members use this as an alternative to tanks when in a pinch.
