I put a big tub of conditioned water outside and stuck some leaves in it, some bugs died in it and I went outside today to find mosquito larvae hanging from the top!
They look so cool, i've never actually seen them before in person.
I moved the water and they all fell down to the bottom and after a few seconds they all started flipping around like inchworms back to the top.
I took one out and poored fresh conditioned water with the larvae, then I gave it to Thai, my male VT.
He did not see it at first, but when he did he sucked it up and ate it.
I feel so bad!!!
I got to see these creatures growing, and I took one of it's lives.
But they are good for bettas and I just reminded myself that it is the food chain. lol
I want to watch them grow!
But they don't need to be in or near the house...so I'm gonna move them far away and get a few more to feed my other bettas...I don't think I am going to continue doing this!
Does anyone know if I could buy mosquito larvae already prepared somewhere?
