Exclamation Need Quick Answers: Why are they popular?

so, my brother's doing a research paper on bettas. :3 he's got everything from their history, how we got all the neat bettas today, myths, and he wants to do why they're popular pets today.

but google fails us.

so, i ask you, people of Bettafish.com:

WHY ARE BETTAS POPULAR PETS?

we know why, but he needs to cite a site he got info from, so i figured i'd ask you all, so he can put his site as a ref. x3c

Because they have wonderful individual personalities, are personable "people" pets, are hearty and don't need elabroate set ups and care, they come in every color pattern you can think of, etc.

So to sum it up I think there's a betta in the world for every single person!

I second laughing. They're pretty straight-forward to care for and the reward is great if you do it right. :) And they're pretty.

They're like snowflakes. You'll never find two that are exactly the same. Looks and personality alike!

They don't smell, they don't make a mess, they don't wreck things, and they're quiet! They're pretty awesome pets.

They are majestic in a tiny package. They have great personalities, can live alone in a (relatively) small setup and have beautiful colors and fins.
