hello (:

hi guys! :) Yeah, I'm pretty new here, and I just wanted to say hi (which I've already done). I don't have a betta fish yet, but I'm going to get one soon! My sister has her own cycled and divided tank, so she's been helping me set up my own ten gallon tank to divide and share with my brother. I understand the basics of betta fish care, but I made an account on this forum so that I can get help if there is ever something wrong with my betta that I can't easily fix or go to my sister for help.

That sounds fabulous! Welcome to the forums! We love pictures, so post lots when you get your scaly friend.

Thanks! I'm not the most technologically savvy person, but I'll try. I still don't know if I should get a boy or a girl...

Boys and girls are both basically the same personality-wise and they require the same care. Of course, if you want those long full fins, you should get a male. But if you're open to bettas of any type, just look for a fish that seems healthy and appeals to you. :)

Good luck, we look forward to hearing about your new fish!

Agreed about the above. Males and females are all full of personality and the care is the same. BTW Petsmart is having until the 21st of May a huge tropical fish sale. Betta's are half off. ^^ Just wanted to give you a heads up.
