We have finrot. T-T;

I noticed his anal fin had greying tips to them. Mom got AQ salt and I added the recommended half teaspoon to his tank to help with it. He seems okay other then his fin damage. We didn't have a teaspoon that wasn't touched with soap but I figured that since I read from another post of OFL that it wouldn't effect him that badly. I figured his treatment was more important then worrying about soap.

Thanks. I do twice a week waterchanges two 50% and then one 100%. I noticed it last night and added the salt today. He's still active and eating.

water changes are definately fin rots worst enemy so keep them up. Depending on the size of your tank and the brand of aquarium salt you may need as much as 1 tblsp per gallon of water. Double check the container to be sure.

I'm not sure of the brand but it just says to add one table spoon every five gallons but a half teaspoon for every single gallon. We did the first 100% waterchange with AQ salt tonight and tomorrow it'll be done again. We're keeping this up until we have finrot beaten.
