www.aquabid.com has good reviews from the members on this site although I've never bought bettas here, just IAL.

Wouldn't it be better to go to a petstore and see them for yourself? Just sayin

Sillycone, while it's nice to be able to hand pick bettas and see them, it's not always better. Petstores don't offer the quality and diversity of fish available online. Seriously, go check out aquabid... it's crazy how high quality and beautiful those fish are.

You can see all the bettas online. They have guaruntees that the fish you're bidding/purchasing ARE the ones you're looking at. Then you can generally message the breed for videos/pictures.

I like AB better because they're generally healthier & higher quality plus you already know their personalities. You know what their generations are, who their parents are, what the siblings look like, etc. PLUS you have SO MUCH to choose from. I enjoy getting from a breeder because then you really know what you're getting. For example, my female betta from PetCo is now turning purple from light blue. What?? My male I bought SATURDAY (yes, two days ago) is going from a metallic green to a gorgeous blue. Pet store bettas are more of a "surprise".

Not always,My LFS order their stock from Thailand.I gave them the colour/fin type of the Betta I wanted and amongst their ordered stock they got 3 of my specification.I had first pick of them and the others were sold as per usual.
O.k not all LFS are like that but it's worth asking.
