Pea gravel in the aquarium?

Does anyone know if it is safe...I seen a 15-20 pound bag of "pea gravel" in my garden store...The rocks are medium sized..but they look very similar to the river rock type gravels sold in pet stores...has anyone used this type of rock in the aquarium?

Pea gravel is usually fairly small diameter and great to use in the aquarium....I have used lots of different gravels from garden shop before I started keeping NPT....I don't think I have ever used gravel in my aquarium that are labeled for aquarium use..lol......I have always found other items much cheaper in garden/home centers type places.....when you work with large tanks you sometimes have to find cheaper methods....lol......

It should be safe to use...rinse well just as you would any gravel.....
