Betta and cycling will he survive?

I'm going to be cycling a new 10 gallon I didn't need to cycle my last tank cause my brother gave me his cycled one anyways lol I was wondering if he will survive it or what's the things I have to do to keep him alive

Fish-in cycling is possible to do without harming your fish, but it takes a little more care. The first thing I'd recommend to get is a liquid test kit; API master kit is the one many of us prefer. Liquid kits are more accurate than the strips. You'll need accurate testing to make sure you do water changes before your fish is harmed.
