I have one similar, but mine's a Marina one for the Cool Tanks. You're right though, they are absolutely fantastic!

Ooh that's nice! I've never heard of something like that! No more siphoning water and swallowing it by accident. xD

Hahahahha! You know when I was a kid once my uncle did that to get some gas from one car to another, I still remember him spitting out some gasoline out of his mouth... xD!!!!

I thought about doing the same on the aquarium but then that image came up and I totally gave up on the idea.

I've totally done that before it's so nasty lol.

On my 10 gallon tank I take the big end of the siphon..submerge it..then when it is full of water I lift it up so the water starts going down the tube..then i hurry up and put it back in the water..it works everytime! Those pump siphons would be lovely on smaller tanks though.I have troubles getting the siphon started on my smaller tanks sometimes.

The only problem I find with my Marina siphon is that it works best with tall tanks or tanks above 2.5g. I don't bother using it with my 1.5g tanks. I just use airline tubing and suck on the end to get the siphon started. And yes...I have gotten water in my mouth...
