What Does This Look Like To You?

Does this look like he's trying to make a bubblenest? I've never seen him at work, but these bubbles are around the top of the plants near the filter, as well as around the filter intake tube and kind of clustered up at the aquarium wall opposite the filter where they've been blown by the current. Because the bubbles are sort of all over the place, I'm not sure if he's trying to build a nest or not, or if the water is bubbling a lot from the filter or maybe the water conditioner or something. I switched to API Stress Coat when he tore his fins. Before that it was Tetra AquaSafe.

Looks like a big bubblenest to me. I came home today and was surprised to see one myself as my fishy had given up on them after a filter was added. It was a bit broken as well but it was around his plants that reached the surface and he didnt like me going near them :))

Oh goody! I've been trying to get him to build a bubblenest for a while. Got him a floating log to nest in or under, kept showing him the mirror so he'd get all fired up at his reflection, but no dice. And now what do you know, when he finally does build a nest, he builds it right in front of the filter! What a dingbat. :)

lol Congrats! Its quite big, mines never had such a spread out nest before, hes been busy! I kept a floating foam in one spot in mines tank for a month and i removed it yesterday during a water change, thats where he built his. I also made the mistake of sitting my females cup near his tank while changing her water so that got him a bit crazy also =x

He's gotta be doing it at night while I'm asleep. I've never seen him at work. Poor guy, getting his hopes up for a mate but it ain't gonna happen. I have no way of raising the fry. ^_^

There isn't anything else it can be. So yes, it is a bubble nest.

Haha, it's so flat and . . . flat. I can't picture eggs sticking to that thing. I think he needs some practice at this.
