Lowering ph?

Hey guys, ^^
i was wondering if anyone had any handy ways to lower the Ph for my Betta's water, as i left my Ph kit thing at my boyfriends, and now i haven't got a way to lower the Ph in his water change.

this would be helpful in this case and at any other point i somehow forget my Ph kit. thank you ^^

Hmmm... Not sure but how much is the PH in your aquarium right now?

around 6.5 the tap water is sits around 7.5 :/

The pH level should be between 6-7.5. If any levels seem wrong, do a water change to get clean water in the tank.

I don't think the PH level right now is a problem. :P

and if you do water change with the tap water you will raise not lower the PH XD!

i knows XD but i just dont want his ammonia levels and such to spike or anything seeing hes only in a small tank atm ;.;

I wouldn't recommend to play with PH. you may do more harm. Do a regular water changes to keep ammonia levels under control.

Changing ph is MUCH more dangerous than higher ph so it really is best to just leave it alone. The fish will adapt. Heck, my ph is 8 and all my boys are doing fine. :)

Yes, I would start doing small partial water changes (using water conditioner, of course) so he can get used to the higher ph in your tap water.

No it does not. Where did you read that?

Ph is just the level of acidity in the water, it doesn't really have anything to do with infections or sickness. Bettas thrive in many different phs. Some members on here, like yourself, have ph in the 6-7 range, whereas some members, like myself, have higher phs in the 7-8 range. Both are fine. It is just a matter of adaptation like the others said.

A water change of around 25% should be fine, just make sure the temperature is pretty even. To be safer, you could add back the fresh water a bit more slowly. Like, instead of just taking the 25% out, and immediately refilling the tank, you could refill like 5% every 20 minutes until it is full again.
