Hi i have set up a tank for 2 fighting fish need help

Hi have set up a tank for 2 fighting fish i have put the fish in and i was woundering if i put in a female fighting with one of them would the male kill her.

My tank is devied into 2 tanks by a glass in the middle so the 2 fish can't gte to each other and it has it's own filter which is at the back and it works by a air pump pushes the water to the left and it goes through the heater which also at the back then goes to to the filter then goes it a last thing where the water gets pulled back in the main tank where the fish are.

I can't make the tank 4 spearte tanks but cuz i only have the 2 fighting fish i don't need to

they each have a little plant that floats ontop of the water

it has gravel at the bottom. i have had the fish for about 4 days now. I feed them mirco pelllets but i started off with betta fish food but they were not eating it so i changed. any tips on anything i could give them?? besides the mirco pellets?

21-width
29-long

Welcome to the forum!! And to answer your question. Yes. Even if the male is ready to mate,as soon as they mate you have to remove the female. I wouldn't try this unless you are very experienced! If the male isn't ready to mate,he'll attack it the same as he would a male. I would suggest getting a separate tank for the female. They're great! I love mine! I give my fish frozen bloodworms once a week. They like them a lot. :) Just defrost some in a couple drops of tank water, then you can pick the worms up with a toothpick and feed them to your fish.

If the divider is made of glass how does the water circulate from one side to the other?

the glass has a small gap at the bottom.

You should probably get your female a different tank or get your male a different tank. If the divider has a gap on the bottom either one of them can easily slide under it to kill each other. It's a sad but common occurance with divided tanks. I highly recommend getting either one of them a new tank. I would hate for a betta to accidentily get hurt or killed.
