Please don't add any more fish to a 2.5 gallon tank. That small volume of water is only enough for your betta, no tank mates!!! You will have an extremely heavy build up of ammonia in your tank, it will kill your fish. Do you have a filter? Is your tank cycled? If it's just recently set up even with a filter, you have to do plenty of water changes with just your betta alone.

Greetings from Midwest USA, and welcome to the forum!

Mollies are brackish water fish. (Mollies need some salt) They also might nip the fins of your Betta, Or your Betta may nip the mollies if they have bigger fins. I would not put them together.

Ghost Shrimp, and a Mystery Snail are all I can remember that can live with a Betta in a small aquarium. I know there are more on the list though.

Best wishes!

I wouldn't even put a snail in a tank that small. I also have four 2.5 gallons, and there just isn't enough space. Snails produce a lot of waste, and even though they may eat leftover food, fish poopies, etc, it's not worth it to have one in a tank that small. As for the ghost shrimp... I wouldn't recommend it. It *might* work, but more likely than not your betta would eat it. Definitely no mollies, though.

welcome to the forum! (: I'd like to say that a 2.5 gallon is the smallest tank that someone should get for a single betta. like everyone else is advising, mollies, or any other fish for that matter, wouldn't be a good tankmate for your betta. just keep it simple for your betta, it definately doesn't mind having the tank to itself.
