Don't be worried, my parents sold a cabinet not to long ago and the people came early in the morning and took it and left! They got around $100 with no hassle!

Definitely go with someone, or meet at a public place. I just got a 55g and stand on CL for $75. I also got my 26g bowfront with two filters, the volcano bubbler and a bunch of other ornaments for $50. I saw a 125g on there today but I think if I come home with another tank my husband will have a fit...lol.

agreed, go with someone else, or meet in public, you'll FEEL safer, and you'll BE safer. Besides if you get there and the item doesn't look as advertised or is broken, you don't have to buy if it's not what you were expecting, or the quality advertised.

also, if the people aren't willing to meet you in a public place, they could at least meet you out in the street, by the sidewalk, and not actually IN their house. you could always ask them to do that. ^_^

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think anyone is going to try to lure people in by selling them an aquarium. LOL

Yep, but go with someone else. I'd personally never go by myself. My dad does all the time but he is like 6 feet tall and much more intimidating then I am. LOL!

Congratulations!
Glad to hear you got a bargin. :)

I've gotten a couple of jobs (the legitimate kind, lol) off of Craigslist. Its a great resource. And a lot of decent people use it. Just like anything else in life, you have to be careful.

I heard a statistic once that at every superbowl, there are at least three really, really wacked-out dangerous people in the stands. It's a statistic based on population norms. Yet people still go to the superbowl, rock concerts, school, the supermarket, etc.

The point is, if you take percautions in going about the business of living, you eliminate a lot of the risk and still enjoy living. Your parents sound supportive; they are helping you to be safe and frugal, all at the same time. Hooray! :D

Now go enjoy your fishes! ;)
