i'd like you to meet my new little guy, hoshi. hoshi means star in japanese, and he really does look like a little starburst to me! i actually almost named him starburst >>
in real life, he is very iridescent, and a different color depending on which angle you're seeing him at. it's hard to capture on camera.
also, he's got these cute little "eyelids", i think it may just be his coloring, but they really do look like eyelids - something i've never seen before on a betta, though i'm sure they're out there.
anyway, here he is in his new tank setup. it's just a 2 gallon, but i just moved him in there from a blank 1 gallon.
his heater is finally in now, and as we speak he is snuggling up against it. aw. <3
for now the plants are fake, but i want to get some real ones next week.
i bought a black background (too expensive) to tape to the back of his tank, but he about had a heart attack. i think he could see his reflection in it... it worked nicely for a couple of the photos, but i had to remove it for his health.
the colored rocks in his tank are some that i have collected over the years from the beach. (i cleaned them off first and did the vinegar test, etc)
so, please welcome hoshi:
his full tank (pictured without lid)
here's a good view of his "eyelids"
thanks for looking! goodnight. ^_^
