ARRGH, looking for info on re-use

of the aquarium waste water for my garden. Most of what I find is on sites for people growing pot. ARGGH.

Any non-potheads want to tell me if they think it would be beneficial to the plants or not?

And if they think I can use it on the veg or just the flowers?

thanks,
Leigh

I use it every week for my banana trees and my herbs (mint..rosemary..oregano..basil..thyme) and my flowers..I don't use it in my vegetable garden...but that is because I am a weakling and to my banana trees and herbs is as far as I can walk with a 5 gallon bucket of water...

Water from the tank is a great fertilizer for just about any type of plant...a potted plant, in the garden... etc......lots of good stuff and sometimes high in nitrogen that plants love and need...fish poop, mulm, debris, uneaten/decaying fish food.... etc....all generally great plant food in or out of the tank......

Thank you both. I have quite a few plants on a 2nd story deck this year - I'm turning my lawn garden into raised beds for next years garden.

It is good to know I can use the fish water up here.

Go mad with the water in the garden. Ive been using mine to water my mums Australian Fern that has suddenly in the last month or 2 shot up that its actually taller than the house. Now she is making me water all her new plants with the tank water!

My mint plants especially love it! That plant is taking over my front walkway now...

Don't use it on tomatoes, though. I tried that one year and got GREAT foliage, but not much fruit. :(

Looked it up on-line &, yup, that's what happens when you use fish water to water tomatoes. :(

Ive actually just been told off, no more water mums lemon tree, the tree is officially producing to much fruit and is top heavy - the storm winds we are having keeps pushing it over. Its basically grown huge in a few months of fish water

This is PERFECT! We're doing a waterchange tonight at that. My lemon tree could use a boost.

Thank you everyone. And I'm glad to hear that about the tomatos - I won't use it on them.
