suitable bottom dwellers or shrimp..?

so ive been having an itch to get my guys tankmates lately,, and i was wondering you guys know any bottom dwellers or shrimp that are HARDY, and well,, arent too big for a divided 10 gal. i emphasize hardy since i will be going away to college soon and i need species that travel well and are easy to care for

IMO, shrimp and snails would be your only option if your tank is cycled. because your tank is divided, both sides are too small for any fish. Ghost shrimps can last a long time if they survive past a month or so with you (that is unless your betta enjoys midnight snacks of shrimp cocktail).

ahh well,, i kinda figured as such..

what kinds of shrimp do you think are good and how many then? i personally like cherries,, but from what i heard they are smaller than ghosts and have a harder time hiding becuase of the red on them, so harder to keep alive if the bettas after a snack :o.

honestly, I don't have that much experience with shrimps, but I hear amano shrimps, cherries, and ghosts are all peaceful. If you have enough plants in your tank, then the cherries should be able to hide more than well enough from your bettas. But, before you invest in them, I'd experiment with a couple of ghosts just to see how your bettas would react.

As for numbers, you could have probably about 5 on each side to start.

Ghosts are preety hardy and have a small bioload. I hads 7 in a ten gallon.
