Yeah, that's a good point. I've only seen my male go once and at first I thought he'd been carrying gravel around in his pelvic fins, then it dropped off and I thought, "Geeze, this fish must be just one whole intestine!"

I had that problem also when I was feeding pellets exclusively. I now feed pellets in the morning and alternate between frozen bloodworms and daphnia in the evening and the problem has subsided.
