veils with reduced webbing, and i've been told they don't look too good.

actually thats a good question I never thought you could make cross-species breeding. I thought you would have like too much mutation or something...

Can you? :V

you can. but, it depends on genetics. veil is dominant, so anything you cross with it, has a higher chance of being long-finned like the veil. if you cross a CT with a VT, you'll get mostly VTs with some webbing reduction in the fins.

for my breeding plans, i actually plan on crossing an HM with a VT. the result is mostly be veils, with some deltas possible.

she'll be fine without spawning. :3 they don't NEED to spawn. she'll either let the eggs out herself and eat them, or reabsorb them into her body. :d

Different tail types are not different species. They're all Betta splendens, just different types... if you want a qualifier you could call them "breeds" although that's not neccessarily the correct term.

Anyways, crossing a VT to anything will yield VT in the first generation. I'm not sure how many generations it takes to work that out. Crossing CT with anything yields very ugly fins in the first generation for the most part. Basically they look like long fins with very raggedy edges. If your curious the Aquabid seller "guppynuts" has a few SDXCT crosses posted and you can see what they look like if she/he still has them up. In successive generations the fins can be refined if you breed very selectively and cull harshly.
