Exclamation Bad balance

My betta spawn has been acting odd recently, he isn't eating that much and he is laying around on the bottom of the tank, his balance seems to be off when he tries to swim. We've been keeping him near the top of the tank so he can eat but he always gets back down to the bottom.

Help!

I have no clue what is wrong with him, any help would be really appreciated.

Sorry you are having problems...we need some more information.....

How big is the tank, how much and how often are the water changes, water temp, filter, live plants, additives used, appetite-amount/type of food, how long has he been sick and have you treated with anything...can you post a pic....

* the tank is a 10 gallon one
* water changes are every Monday, between 10% and 50%
* the water temp according to our one is 85.4F but we think its broken, it feels really cold, we bought him a new heater recently too.
* the filter is an aqua-tech 5-15 power filter
* no live plants
* additives used are, nutrafin cycle, nutrafin waste control and nutrafin aqua plus
* his appetite is usually good, he has one or two blood worms a day except for Wednesdays, right now he doesn't eat at all unless you get him near the top of the tank.
* he has been sick for a few days now, maybe 3 or four and we've treated him with aquarium salt and betta fix medication, not much change.

my husband said he looks bloated around the gills, like his head is bigger and he said he has discoloration around his head, body, but his fins look fine.

He looks more like he is wasting away and why his head looks bigger than usual......double check the temp and get it down to 76F over 24h...not too fast....start making 25% water changes daily for 4 days using only the dechlorinator...don't add anything else to rule out toxicity...how fast is the filter...does it blow him around...if so you need to baffle it....how old is this setup and how long have you had the Betta.....

Keep us posted.....
