Help with new Betta

Hi my son got a Betta a week ago and is keeping him in a bowl about the size of a "goldfish bowl". Well tonight I noticed one top corner of the bowl is covered in bubbles. The whole corner and they are staying in that corner only without clearing up at all. So my question is whether or not this is normal ? Thank You - Amy

Those bubbles are created by your betta. They do it as part of their breeding activity where the eggs are kept under the bubblenest to prevent from sinking to the bottom. This is pretty normal and very common for male bettas to do that.
