Nail Polish?

I was wondering if it was harmful to fish when you have to stick your hands in to do water changes and whatnot. Might be a silly question, but now that summer's here I plan on doing my nails :3 I just wanna know if it'll leak something toxic into the water or something :) Thanks!

Nope! :) As long as it is dry of course. I have my nails painted almost all of the time and of course being the fish nerd i am i have to put my hands into the tank to keep it clean and so far nothing bad has resulted from that. Happy fish keeping!

I think that nail polish would be fine but I wonder whether if you've recently removed nail polish remover if you should wait for the fumes to dissipate.

Just make a point of washing and rinsing your hands really well every time your hands go in your tank and it should be fine. I wouldn't remove polish and then not wash my hands...

Yeah, it shouldn't do anything bad as long as it's dried.

My nail polish likes to flake off sometimes. I'm a lazy polishing person so it takes a bit of flaking before I remove it and repaint.. so if you're the same as me with that... I wash my hands first and rub over my nails to make sure theres no loose flakes. I'd hate for one of my babes to eat it.
