Substitute Plants

Does anyone know of a small plant similar to mondo grass? My betta loves to swim and hide under his mondo grass (he wiggles under the fronds like he's playing limbo) but it's dying and I'll need to take it out soon. My local Petsmart sold the grass to me and I found out later it's only semi-aquatic anyway.

Pygmy chain sword (E. tenellus)...looks nearly like the mondo grass but with a bit thinner leaves....sends out runners and can cover the floor fairly fast if happy and needs met....grows about 3 inches tall and can get a red tint to the leaves along with the green.....tolerates low to mod light.....higher the light the faster it grows.......
