How old is your fish (approximately)? up until yesterday our betta was fine....he even seemed to know us and was excited to see us come home...always ready to eat...my daughter changed the h20 in his 1.5 gal tank the same as she always does even though she waited 2 weeks this time and soon after he was in the clean h20 he started swimming erratic,hiding in his house, not eating at all(for 2 days), he seems to have something hanging out of his mouth that is white..he spits it out and sucks it up...hovers and flutters around his plant,..but mostly hides..I don't understand...

If you could answer the question..it would help us help you and your Betta.....

Until then.....I would go ahead and make another 50% water change with like temp water and use dechlorinator for the full volume of the tank not just the amount for the replacement water.....by what little information you did provide...it sounds like a water quality issue that compromised his immune response and the 100% water change shocked him...either pH or nitrate along with water temp shock and even forgotten or not enough dechlorinator......I will know more once you complete the form and answer the questions.....
