betta hiding

so the past few days, i come to find my betta constantly hiding under my decoration. why would he be doing this all of the sudden? could this kill him, if he doesn't get enough light?

Bettas enjoy hiding and they enjoy darker situations. They're perfectly happy in the 'dark'. The only reason you should probably be worried is if you have plants (for lighting needs, that is) or he starts behaving like he's sick.
