Bettas changing color with the season?

Ive heard bettas change color when the seasons change. Any one heard of this or know if its true?

My betta changes color from an almost clear to an olive color to an olive black iridescent blue... and she does so with every new flicker of emotion.

She changes in other varieties too.

Great pics RayneForhest! It's amazing how dramatic the change is! My young black females will go from cellophane to coal black within seconds, it makes me wonder lol.

All animals will change behavior (and therefore color depending on the species) throughout the year... from what I've read it has to do with barometric/atmospheric pressure (lower during the winter=winter blues and higher during the summer=more active). During the summer, when they are feeling better, they are likely to show their true colors.

My new female went from a tanish body with teal fins when I picked her out to brownish purple the next day to a really dark purple black once introduced to the tank. I dont know about seasons but the do chance depending on mood, health and spawning.

I wonder what moods cause them to turn lighter or darker....

hmm...Marbles (my male multicolor CT) DOES seem to lighten up a little sometimes...and others his little speckles make him look like a little kid thats filthy from playing in mud ^.^...I guess I thought it was just my imagination, but perhaps its his mood
