Why does my betta not use his plant as refuge?

My betta always seemed to love hiding in plants but now he does'nt do it anymore. I am worried that his stress level will rise if he doesn't use the plant but I guess thats a sign that hes not stressed because he doesn't use it??

How is he acting otherwise....any changes....is he eating and acting his normal self other than taking refuge in the plants.....any stress related signs/symptoms......

What kind of plants-live or fake and if live-how many and what species, how big is the tank, how much and how often are the water changes, water temp, filter, additives used, appetite-type/amount food/feeding......

Is that a pic of him in your avatar...if so, he is beautiful.....can you post a pic of the setup.....
