Is he healthy?

I lost one of my fish today to an illness. Now I'm obsessing over my other fish. Gilligan is acting normal, although he has never had a big appetite and doesn't make bubble nests as often as Gollum did.

Can anyone tell from this low-quality picture if he looks healthy? I'm sorry I don't have a better picture, but my camera can't take good pictures through the water.

PS. I just realized that his color looks different in this picture. His body is the same color as his tail, and the paler area under his chin isn't as pale as it looks here, either.

Its Very hard to say. You can tell more about the health of the fish via the water parameters and maintenance, though, so if he looks fine, like you can't see anything obviously wrong, and your tank is clean, etc, he should be fine.

Well from the outside he looks healthy, but you can never be too sure because like other members have said, you have to check the water temp, PH and so on.

Also a tip on taking pictures is to get a Fluorescent light or lamp put it on him and dont use any flash.
